Conveyancing Disbursements – it’s a bit of a mouthful isn’t it?
Jargon aside, CDs (let’s call them that from here on in) are just a fancy way of saying extra out of pocket expenses.
Let us explain further.
Disbursements are costs incurred as part of the conveyancing process that are not included in the actual fee for the professional services provided. Examples include title searches and certificates ordered from government authorities and private entities requesting information about the property you are purchasing or selling. You might also see other disbursements such as phone calls, faxes, emails and paper etc
Some companies will quote their fees plus disbursements. Be wary if you get a quote that doesn’t include an estimate of disbursement and search costs. This could mean a big hit to your finances at the end of the process.
At Sargeants Geelong, our conveyancing services have fixed fees so there are no hidden surprises at the end of the transaction. We’re transparent and want you (and your wallet) to know what you are up for, up front so you can manage your budget and protect your interests.
We’ll outline all the fees and charges, ensure you understand what is and isn’t included in your conveyancing quote and explain what each payment is for. You can save time and leave the stress, legal jargon (and big words) to us.
Our team are the conveyancing and property transfer specialists. We care and we know our stuff – the Sargeants network has been in business since 1978.
