The Australian Government has recently introduced a series of measures to help Australians at all stage of life find the right home.

They include helping first home buyers, downsizers, and building new infrastructure to help boost housing supply.

Here is a quick snapshot for you:

FIRST HOME BUYERS
Check out The First Home Super Saver Scheme. This is designed to help first home buyers save up to 30% faster through voluntary super contributions. You can now take advantage of generous tax concessions and contribute up to $15,000 in any one financial year, and up to $30,000 in total. First home buyers can apply to have their additional super contributions released from 1 July 2018.

DOWNSIZERS

Downsizers, there are generous financial incentives for you here. If you are 65 and over and want to sell your current home, you can now put up to $300,000 from the sale, per person, into your super account. This offers greater flexibility and extra tax advantages to older Australians.

NEW HOUSING
The government has committed $1 billion to accelerate the supply of new housing. It will also ensure that underused Commonwealth land is put to better use, including land that is suitable for new homes.
